For Mother’s Day I got two of my favorite things, time with my best friend (Roger) and chick flicks. My mom babysat Benjamin on Saturday evening so Roger and I could go out to dinner. Although we really wanted to go to Shiro in Great Barrington (a half hour trip to a Japanese habichi grill, we would have been gone for almost 3 hours), I felt it best to stay closer to home. Benjamin hadn’t been field tested on the bottle and was still colicky at that point so I didn’t want to leave my mom in a huge bind. So we went to the Woodlands, our favorite local spot and made sure we were gone at least an hour. Mom, like grandmothers before her, left as soon as Benjamin started crying. Ah, the joys of grandparenthood! Thanks mom for the evening out!
