Mushroom Head

In a pinch, Mommy fashioned a mushroom hat for Benjamin who didn’t want to ride in his stroller any more on a sunny day.

A family photo at Bash Bish falls. We started our trip with our stroller, but found the trail far too rocky to continue with Benjamin strapped in. Roger carried him in the Moby Wrap while Grandad Wistar dragged the stroller up the trail. He has a proper hat for this walk. :)

A visit with GranMary

Today the whole family went to visit GranMary in Ludlow. We arrived a half hour later than planned due to crying and wet diapers. Everything takes just a bit more time with a little one in tow. We went out to lunch and then hung out with Benjamin and the dogs. Betsy and Piper were exciting entertainment for Benjamin. He’s really taken to watching to dogs antics. Roger and I can sit with him and the dogs just telling him about their breed, coat, and tags. I started making up stories about their adventures because I’m finished with the obvious material and Benjamin is still interested in the activity. Betsy and Piper are super-dogs, finding adventure where ever they go (or at least that’s what Benjamin will think of them).

Andrea is caught on tape doing silly things to make Benjamin giggle at her. Check out the look on little B’s face after Andrea does her best to entertain him. :)

Is he going to roll? Chuck and Andrea are a captive audience for Benjamin’s attempts at locomotion.

Stalking the wild baby

A trip to the Goshen Stampede!

Last weekend Roger and I took Benjamin to his first fair. The Goshen Stampede is an annual event with carnival fare and semi-pro bull riding. Benjamin had a great time, maybe too great. After a nap, he hung out in his stroller and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the bull ride. He didn’t make a fuss and didn’t care to eat, although it was long past his normal feeding time. The third time I tried to feed him I felt a little something funny on my leg. It turned out that he was sitting in a seriously wet diaper and it leaked onto my jeans. I was awash is body fluids!

Here Roger and Benjamin check out the stuffed wildlife. :)

Here’s a photo of a pig we saw at the petting pavilion. It is cuddled up with some goats.

Rock a bye baby…

Despite the appearance of this picture, Roger has not
in fact learned how to lactate:

Looking out at the world…

Now that Ben has a little more head stability and curiosity, we’re experimenting with turning him around in his sling so he can see the action:

Halfway to the goal…

After a bit of training with Daddy, Ben is experimenting with rolling over on his own. Here’s his progress so far:

Irresistibly cute

Benjamin started to suck on individual or groups of fingers in the last couple of weeks. I often catch him enjoying his two middle fingers and sometimes his thumb. Roger caught this picture of him last night. :)
