Wednesday was a pretty typical day at home with Ben. After morning snack, he and I loaded up the car and headed over to the rail trail in Millerton for a bike ride. We went all the way down to Amenia and back — about 16 miles — in about 90 minutes. Ben spent most of the time asleep. He developed this annoying habit of sticking his feet up on my seat whenever I stood up on the pedals, which gave me a rude surprise when I tried to sit down again. Yikes!
After lunch, Ben and I hung out in the apartment for a while, but he was so active that we had to get out of the house again. So we headed over to the playground in Canaan for a short while. Ben really likes the swings. Today I was swinging him pretty high — at the highest point his feet were actually above his head. But he loved it. And then we had to try out the big slide. He’s not really old enough to go down by himself but he and I climb up the ladder together and then he rides down in my lap.
In the evening we had a new babysitter, Brady, come over to watch Ben after dinner so that Marcie and I could go out to see the new Harry Potter movie. I can’t remember the last time we got out to see a movie together. Good times!
