Baby friendly shredded wheat: Weetabix? Duncan’s been eating as long…well, as long as he’s been eating. It might be worth a try. He did not like Autumn Wheat Kashi – he had already had the kind of mini wheats with “REAL” sugar on them. It’s hard to go back.

Day care providers are your family’s best friends, parents and Ben. Part of caring for Ben is alerting you when they are concerned about Ben. He must have been in distress for them to call you to pick him up. They are professionals deserving of their due respect.

Oh geez. Those day care ladies can overreact at times. I’m surprised my kid has made it through the week if they were gung ho to send Ben home for coughing. I thought fever was their litmus test for swine flu. Get well soon Ben! Before I became a parent, I don’t think I ever understood how a family could be so wiped out by a simple head cold.

The lights freaked Duncan out too! Yes, Kids Time is very hard to describe. My sister described it as a Habitrail for kids.

Baby Ben’s adventure with words is just beginning. I like Melissa’s advice already. Talking is great fun and Ben will pick up words quickly when everyone around him is “blathering.”

I’m not a fan of TV for kids, but I really liked Signing Times. It might be just looking at. I think I still have a few seasons if you guys are interested.

I have to check my own stats, but I think Ben is as tall as Duncan. Wow! It’s ironic because so many people ask me if Duncan is tall, and I’m forced to say…”um…no, I don’t THINK so.” I hope she’s overreacting about the speech therapist, but it’s amazing the things they can identify and work with so early. Happy Half Birthday, Ben!
